I do most of my fishing in the Lower Keys area, and needed a boat that could handle the skinny water but also make it out to the reef on nicer days. No boat can do it all, but after test driving the Aeon 23DLX, I was convinced that this boat would do what I needed it to. "I was looking for a boat that my family could use for fishing and diving. After visiting several boat manufacturers I went for a ride in the Aeon 23. The water conditions were rough, but the ride was dry. My next concern was if the Aeon 23 would make a good dive platform. A large anchor locker which is standard on the Aeon 23 was important. I needed space for dive tanks and Will came up with in-hull storage. I wanted a transom door to facilitate divers getting back on board with gear on, again Will said he could build it. Speargun racks...no problem. Whatever question I had, Will and his team had the answer. Looking back...if I had the opportunity to have the boat built over again, would I do anything different? Absolutely not! Thank you Will, Liz, and the Aeon team " 01/10/2011 "Will, Liz, and the Aeon Marine Team, made our first dives from the Lucky Charms on Saturday, January 8th. "To find a boat that is truly family friendly and that you can fish out of is next to impossible. But our Aeon fits the bill. We had a list of things we needed in a boat and handed it to Will and Liz.When we said that we need a t-top that gives shade AND the kids can jump off, they came up with a hard top with a removable ladder. When we said we wanted to have a space for our teenage daughter and her friends to lounge on and read a book, they came up with the dodger and storable cushions. Eight drink pockets, extra rod holders, an upgraded Garmin, an oversized cooler, a removable trashbag, a system to store the wakeboard, a built in tackle box, all there. What we worked on together was a place for everything, and everything in its place. Will and Liz built a custom boat to meet our needs. We have owned Grady Whites for the past 20 years and the Aeon quality is better. The attention to detail is outstanding, and it looks unbelievable. "My attention was captured when I first saw a picture of the Aeon 23. I knew that was the boat I wanted to look at further and made arrangements to sea trial. I needed the hull to be able to handle the East coast and work well in the Keys. The boat did not disappoint & did everything & more. I wanted to make some changes with the lay out and a few that had not been done before. Will worked with me and we talked through every stage of the build. When it came time to fabricating the T-Tower I was invited over to consult with Scott, Aeon Marine's Welder, to get the best set-up for me. "Will & Liz, Thanks for building a great boat. The more I run the boat, the more I like it. It has a very solid feel, and the fit and finish is perfect. This style boat is typically used on the West coast of Florida where the seas are much calmer. So I was a little concerned about getting enough fishing days in on the East coast where I do most of my fishing. The first trip on the beach fishing for cobia in 1 - 2 ft seas proved this boat can handle it. The boat has a very smooth and dry ride which is great for the family trips" Thanks again.
